Position Overview
- The main function of this position is overseeing and performing machining services including saw cutting, handling of pipe and other materials, sectioning, and other laboratory sample preparation and for testing. *Must be a US Citizen* This position offers a $750.00 sign on bonus too! This is a local position to Williamsville, NY.
- The main duties include:
- Responsible for pipe and materials handling upon receipt from the client.
- Responsible to help support shipping/receiving by unloading or loading delivery trucks
- Maintains equipment used in the laboratory and responsible for the day-to-day operation of the lab facility including, but not limited to, scheduling, equipment maintenance, managing supplies, and scheduling equipment calibration.
- Participates in laboratory inspections providing operation of equipment during inspection.

Position Purpose
The main function of this position is overseeing and performing machining services including saw cutting, handling of pipe and other materials, sectioning, and other laboratory sample preparation and for testing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for pipe and materials handling upon receipt from the client.
- Responsible to help support shipping/receiving by unloading or loading delivery trucks
- Maintains equipment used in the laboratory and responsible for the day-to-day operation of the lab facility including, but not limited to, scheduling, equipment maintenance, managing supplies, and scheduling equipment calibration.
- Participates in laboratory inspections providing operation of equipment during inspection.
- Observes and consults with project managers to ensure specified techniques are used.
- Perform work safely (wearing appropriate PPE and following safety procedures).
- Assist the machinist with basic machining of test samples when time permits.
- Represent company at industry conferences and committees as and when required.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- General knowledge of machining techniques.
- A sense of urgency, good attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Demonstrates a systematic approach in carrying out assignments.
- Ability to complete forklift training and certification within 3 weeks of being hired.
- Firmly adheres to the values and ethics of Aegeus Inspection Solutions. Exhibits honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Maintains a positive "can do" outlook, rebounds quickly from frustrations and unpleasantness, and maintains composure and friendly demeanor while dealing with stressful situations.
- Basic computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and properly execute multiple simultaneous assignments.
- Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Education and Work Experience
- Associate's Degree in any discipline or Laboratory Technician based vocational school Certificate / Degree preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Certificates and Licenses Required
- Ability to achieve ASNT Level II certification in Visual Inspection within 1 year of being hired.
- Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under Company insurance program.
Working Conditions
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and working environment
- May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces
- The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud when working on project site.
- Overtime required during the week and weekend with work volume
- Maybe requested to travel, nationally, up to 20% of the time.
