COMPENSATION
Annual Pay Range: $86,104.16 - $108,665.51
Hourly Pay Range: $41.396233 - $52.243034
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.
As an Electrical Inspector in the Building Codes Division, your main focus will be inspecting new or remodeled electrical installations and determining the quality of work, use of proper materials and compliance with state and national electrical codes and County regulations, reviewing plans of proposed electrical work; partnering and conferring with electrical engineers, contractors, electricians and other stakeholders regarding code requirements and inspection procedures. You will have an opportunity to use your expertise to explain applicable policies, statutes, ordinances, regulations and codes pertinent to the electric trade. In this role, you will also be responsible for enforcement of proper electrical licensure per administrative rules and statutes. Additionally, among other critical components of this position, as an Electrical Inspector, you will be inspecting existing or fire damaged electrical systems for deterioration and hazardous conditions.

WORK SCHEDULE
This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
Please Note: This position is eligible for hybrid on-site/telework and based on the Department’s business needs. The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington. Washington residents must perform 50% of their time on-site at Clackamas County.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties in the field require reaching, squatting, kneeling, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, fine motor control, and the ability to lift and carry objects, and push/pull 40 pounds. Duties also involve exposure to slippery and/or uneven surfaces, exhaust fumes and dust, working at heights on ladders and roofs, and adverse weather conditions.

Requirements
Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
- Certification Requirements:
- Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC) ~AND~ Electrical Specialty Code Inspector (EI) Certification, issued by the State of Oregon
- Note: Proof of possession of required certifications will be confirmed prior to the final offer of employment is extended to the selected candidate.
- Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC) ~AND~ Electrical Specialty Code Inspector (EI) Certification, issued by the State of Oregon
- Experience providing excellent customer service to the public as well as to other external and internal stakeholders within various levels of organization
Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
- Experience conducting electrical inspections, including interpreting electrical codes, regulations and policies; reading electrical wiring diagrams and electrical construction plans; and, evaluating electric materials, products and methods of installation
- Experience evaluating materials or products per their listing and methods of installation
- Experience writing accurate and clear inspection or similar reports
- Experience calculating electrical loads
- Experience working around high voltage installations (12,470 volts)
