Position Purpose
The Communications & Content Manager supports the Kerrville Convention & Visitors Bureau's mission by coordinating strategic communications, destination content, publications, and marketing projects that promote Kerrville as a premier Texas Hill Country destination.
Working closely with the President/CEO, this position leads the execution and coordination of KCVB's communication initiatives while ensuring consistent brand messaging across print, digital, and partner communications. The Communications & Content Manager serves as the organization's primary content coordinator, helping communicate tourism's value to visitors, stakeholders, and the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Communications & Content Development
- Coordinate development of content for KCVB publications, newsletters, blogs, website, visitor guide, annual report, and other organizational communications.
- Write, edit, proofread, and maintain accurate, engaging content across print and digital platforms.
- Develop press releases, media materials, speeches, presentations, and organizational communications.
- Maintain an organized library of marketing assets, photography, videos, and written content.
Marketing & Brand Coordination - Coordinate marketing projects under the direction of the President/CEO.
- Serve as a liaison with KCVB's advertising agency and creative partners.
- Coordinate project timelines, copy review, asset collection, and production schedules.
- Ensure marketing materials accurately reflect KCVB's brand standards, messaging, and strategic direction.
- Support implementation of KCVB's Annual Marketing Plan.
Digital Communications - Maintain and update content across KCVB's website, content management system, app platform, and other digital visitor resources.
- Coordinate blog development and destination storytelling.
- Monitor website content for accuracy, relevance, and user experience.
- Support digital marketing initiatives by coordinating content and creative assets.
Publications & Organizational Communications - Coordinate production of the Official Visitor Guide and other printed publications.
- Support development of KCVB's Annual Report by coordinating content, gathering tourism statistics, collecting photography, drafting copy, and assisting with production under the direction of the President/CEO.
- Produce stakeholder, consumer, and industry newsletters.
- Assist with Board communications, presentations, reports, and organizational messaging.
Tourism Research & Reporting - Compile tourism statistics, visitor trends, campaign performance, and organizational accomplishments.
- Develop reports and visual summaries that communicate tourism's economic impact and organizational performance.
- Support grant applications, award submissions, and strategic planning initiatives through research and content development.
Leadership & Collaboration
The Communications & Content Manager works collaboratively across all departments to ensure consistent messaging, effective communication, and successful execution of organizational priorities.
This position supports the President/CEO by coordinating communications and marketing initiatives while working closely with staff, tourism partners, community organizations, vendors, and KCVB's advertising agency.
The Communications & Content Manager contributes creative ideas, maintains project momentum, and helps ensure all public-facing communications reflect the Kerrville destination brand.
Tools & Technology
The Communications & Content Manager is expected to maintain proficiency with technology that supports destination marketing and organizational communications, including:
- Microsoft 365
- Content Management Systems (CMS)
- CRM and tourism databases
- Email marketing platforms
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Analytics and reporting platforms
- Project management software
- AI-assisted content development tools
- Digital communication and collaboration platforms
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, tourism, English, or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, destination marketing, public relations, or content development.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a professional office environment.
- Ability to use computer equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally attend evening or weekend meetings and community events.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
This position operates in a collaborative office environment and regularly interacts with staff, tourism partners, community organizations, media representatives, vendors, and the public. The role requires creativity, organization, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

The Kerrville Convention & Visitors Bureau is seeking a creative, organized communications professional to help tell the story of one of Texas' premier Hill Country destinations.
Working directly with the President & CEO, this position coordinates destination marketing communications, publications, website content, newsletters, annual reports, media relations, and marketing projects while serving as the primary liaison with the organization's advertising agency.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Tourism, or related field preferred
Three or more years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, destination marketing, or content development
Exceptional writing, editing, project management, and organizational skills
