Company History

In the early 2000s, Cooper Hospital underwent significant restructuring and rebranding, and it officially became Cooper University Health Care in 2005 to reflect its expanded services beyond just hospital care, including outpatient clinics and advanced medical research.

A significant milestone came in 2011, when Cooper University Health Care completed the construction of its Cooper University Hospital Pavilion, a major expansion designed to provide state-of-the-art patient care. This also marked the continued transformation of Cooper into a regional healthcare leader.

During the 2010s, Cooper also invested heavily in technological advancements, including expanding its electronic medical records systems and introducing telemedicine services. The goal was to continue delivering high-quality care while enhancing patient experience and convenience.

Current Status
Today, Cooper University Health Care is a comprehensive healthcare system, offering a wide range of services from primary care to specialized treatments in cancer, cardiology, orthopedics, and neurology, among others. It is recognized as one of the region’s top healthcare providers and remains affiliated with Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, helping to train the next generation of doctors and medical professionals.

In addition to medical care, Cooper is heavily involved in community health initiatives and education. It has been a leader in improving public health in Camden and surrounding areas, addressing both medical and social determinants of health.

The system now includes several facilities in the area, such as Cooper University Hospital in Camden, along with outpatient care centers, a cancer institute, and specialty clinics throughout South Jersey.
