- Water Tech Operator
Description
Water Tech Operator position is a union position with IBEW 483. This position is responsible for maintenance and operation of Parkland Light and Water Company’s (PL&WCo) treatment system, cross connection control department, water quality sampling, and general utility needs such as maintaining structures, and other duties as assigned. This position requires moderate supervision. Responsible for job site safety, onsite work performance and in compliance with all federal, state, local regulations, company policies and standards
Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This job typically requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, reaching, standing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to climb water towers up to 190 feet high. Must be able to wear a respirator to work with AC water pipe and dangerous chemicals. Very Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. May be subject to extreme heat/cold.
Education:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Must be willing to advance education.
Licensing Requirements:
Possess and maintain:
Class A CDL with Airbrake and HAZMAT Endorsement.
First Aid and CPR Card within six months of employment.
Flagger Card within six months of employment.
WTPO 2 or above Certification.
Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) within 1 year of employment.
A Washington State Cross Connection Specialist (CCS) Certification within 1 year.
