Job Summary
- Performs Histocompatibility laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and all pertinent regulatory requirements.
- Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
- Provide instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
- Execute proficiency testing.
- Attends regional and national meetings and give presentations to acquire and disseminate information and to earn required Continued Education (CE) credits.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- Some laboratory experience
Preferred
- Some clinical laboratory experience
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Required
- Ability to sit for Certified Histocompatibility Technologist exam within 2 years of hire

- Proficient written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions / Demands
The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Monday-Friday, no weekends, no on-call hours.
