- Finance Director
Description
About the Role
A top-tier Democratic congressional campaign in Colorado’s 8th District is hiring a Finance Director to build and run a winning fundraising program from day one. The Finance Director will work closely with the Candidate, Campaign Manager, and Consulting team to design strategy, lead call time, manage events, and grow both major-donor and grassroots revenue in one of the country’s most competitive House races.
Key Responsibilities
Own the finance plan: Set monthly/quarterly goals across major donors, PACs, events, and grassroots channels; report progress and forecast revenue.
Run call time end-to-end: Prep targeted lists, brief the candidate, track pledges/commitments, and drive disciplined follow-up.
Events: Plan and execute in-district and national fundraisers — from house parties to high dollar receptions.
Systems & data: Maintain clean, accurate records; build lists, segment donors, and produce timely reports and metrics.
Team leadership: Manage and train finance assistants, interns, and volunteers supporting call time, events, and acknowledgments.
Compliance coordination: Work with the compliance vendor to ensure timely, accurate FEC reporting and reconciliation.
Donor cultivation: Identify, research, cultivate, and steward new prospects; activate bundlers and networks in-district and nationally.
Requirements
At minimum one full campaign cycle of fundraising experience on a campaign (federal, statewide, or competitive legislative/mayoral) or for a political party or organization.
Tool fluency with common call-time and CRM platforms: ActBlue, Numero, CallTime.ai, NGP/NGP VAN (or comparable), G-Suite, YAMM.
Management ability to lead support staff and volunteers toward clear goals and timelines.
Exceptional organization, follow-through, and written/verbal communication; comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
Willingness to work non-traditional hours as needed; periodic in-district travel. (Driver’s license/car helpful but not required to start.)
Employment Details
Status: Full-time, at-will, tied to the duration of the campaign.
Schedule: Includes some evenings and weekends aligned to finance needs and events.
Location: Role is based in CO-08; remote start is available, with expected regular presence in-district as the campaign ramps.
